I met my wife and made my daughter when I was 18, and got married when I was 19. I've mostly been a cashier at various stores: currently Longs Drugs, previously Target, K-Mart, and Frenchy's in San Francisco. I delivered pizzas for a few weeks, as well as bundles of newspapers for a few months, and coin collecting and vending machine repair for about two years. Maybe I'll go back to college and take some accounting classes this time (computer science hasn't panned out for me).

I've also been to the edge of the universe and back, and I never had to leave my brain. It's kind of like thinking outside the box, except that there's really just one box inside of another, in a series of boxes, until the last one. When you think outside that last box, well...that means you're God (or insane).

• Human molecules

• I like to watch movies (I think I'm going to pay for a ticket to see Dragon Wars, for instance). I guess I like rock music, and alternative, and some pop music, and some other random songs from other genres. Religio-philosophically, I'm of the Urantia Book persuasion.

• I'm trying to write a program to scan maps and translate identifiable regions into a standardized database. Also another program to read said database and generate a series of bitmaps, frames for an animation, based on given parameters. In other words, I want to say "west india/pakistan, 1-1600" and get back an animated image of that region, plus some default data layers for national, religious, linguistic affiliation. Plus lots of other possible extensions, such as road building and maintenance, land use, ecological ranges, geologic transformation in the millions of years range. If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or anything else, please leave them anywhere, but this page is the best place.

• I've been collecting random bits of social commentary in an area I'm calling Yoga Class for Cats. Read at your own risk (probably, you'll just feel like you wasted your time).

• If you're into sci-fi, or alternate futures, then you should check out Orion's Arm. It's a community built universe set 10,000 years after our present day technological singularity produces more things that change AND stay the same. There is no utopia, except on some planets, and no dystopias, except on other planets. Some AIs are our friends, others want to wipe us out. Non-genetically modified Homo sapiens is an endangered "clade." Oh, just go read their intro pages, my petty summary is probably doing the work a disservice.
